Sanguine

 SANGUINE

Sanguine is a wordless horror comic about a bat community in the desert that suffers devastating consequences after discovering a mysterious chest of items. It is a meditation on how colonization and the destruction of indigenous culture informs modern Western concepts of monstrosity in relation to transgender & gender non-conforming identities. It debuted in the 2019 horror comic anthology Theater of Terror: Revenge of the Queers published by Northwest Press. The full color, 250+ page volume showcases a vivid diversity of stories and illustrations from 35 LGBTQ cartoonists. Previewed here are the first 3 pages of Sanguine.
